Athens Warriors First Varsity Season (8/14/06)
The Athens Warriors will march out onto the gridiron in 2006 for the first time ever as a varsity program.
While the early projections have them in class 2A, that fact may not come into play as they look to become one of just a hand full of teams over the years that have made the playoffs in their first varsity season.
For all you not familiar with the town, it's pronounced A-thens, with a long A, not Athens like the city in Greece.
