Brooks Wins Soundly

Chicago, Gately Stadium - Rance Hughes helped lead Brooks to a 2-0 record to start the 2006 season. Hughes scored the Eagles first TD on a 16 yard run in the first and would score again in the second on 10 yard run.

Hughes stepped up on defense as well, with some timely hits and an interception. Brandon Onuselogu (RB 6' 220 sr) racked up some big yards as well as a first quarter TD for the Eagles.

Brooks all but put the game in the bag as Akeem Cheery (C/DL 6'2 216 sr.) recovered a Schurz fumble and returned it for a 70 yard TD with no time left in the first half. A late score by Schurz was the first points the Eagles had giving up all year.
