Eagles Fly to 2-1

Flossmoor - Sandburg Eagles flew over Flossmoor (Homewood-F.) Vikings to win two in a row with a 24 to 7 victory.

Steve Oliver of Flossmoor (Homewood-F.) played well with 18 carries for 142 yards. The Sandburg defensive line Chris Barry, Dave Constantine, Gerard Laud and Scott Wisniewski did an excellent job plugging up the holes up front. Any plays to the outside received immediate attention by Bill Drew, Chris Schulte, Matt Wapiennik and Tom Engel. Senior Tom Engel played an excellent defensive game with interception of an Oliver pass and several touchdown saving tackles.

Eagles running back Dan Anthony also kept the Eagles flying high with a great running game of 20 carries for 199 yards and three touchdowns.

Next week the Sandburg Eagles face long time rival New Lenox (Lincoln Way Central)
