IHSFW.com College Bound List

The IHSA lists an average of between 45,000 & 50,000 freshman to seniors that suit up each year to play high school football in Illinois. Broken up in to quarters that puts roughly 12,000 seniors who will possibly be looking at playing college ball. With a 119 Division-IA & 116 Division I-AA colleges that have football programs, most of whom offer some type of athletic scholarship, we estimate that there will be between 5,000 & 5,500 scholarships of some form offered by the top schools to potential new student athletes.

Those odds sound great if you just use players from Illinois, but considering states like California has 100,000 players, or 25,000 senior football players (double that of Illinois), the numbers go from 40% chance of getting a scholarship to 13% and that's not even counting the other 48 states and Canada.

Given all that we are happy to put a spotlight on the sons of Illinois who are going on to the next level.

Although we do our best we have been know to miss a player or two. If you're a player who has committed to a college (verbal or signed) and we don't have you on the list, please e-mail us at IHSFW@ihsfw.com . Only players from schools that verify incoming freshman athletes will be listed.
