Number of teams after two weeks that still haven't allowed a team to score on them. Some notable teams in that bunch are Champaign (St. Thomas More) who has now double it's victory total from last year at 2-0. 5A Yorkville, who's week #1 victory of 7A Plainfield (South) has been one of the least talked about upset of the season so far. Mahomet (M.-Seymour) (103) & Chicago (Young) (100), have shut out their first two opponents, but have also put up an average of 50 points or more on the offensive side of the ball. A good sign that there may be some depth on the defense as the 2nd team usually sees a lot of action in a 40 plus game.

Well 5,025 yards to be exact. After Belleville Althoff's Jason Ford racked up 215 yards against Belleville East last weekend, he became just the 12th player to break 5,000 yards in an Illinois high school career. Ford sits at 11th on the all time list currently through week #2. Ford, who has rushed for over 200 yards in several games, could land at the 5th spot if he only rushed for 100 yards a game for the next 7 games and Althoff didn't make the playoffs. Although all signs point to Ford getting in at least 8 more games.

The most points scored by a team so far this year goes to Herrin, who dropped 62 points on East Richland & then beat Civic Memorial 53-0 in week #2.

As conference play starts in the newly realigned Chicago Catholic League, the Blue Division is stacked with schools who've been to their share of State Finals Games, with 31 games between 5 schools. Chicago (Mt. Carmel) holds most of them with 14 appearances, while every other team has won at least 1 state title and appeared in no less than two final games.
