2002 School Enrollment Numbers/Class Speculation

Summer is just around the corner, which means the high school sporting season is over and those of you who are fans can only sit by the computer and wait for the fall sports season to start. For those of you who are looking for a little something to hold you over, the IHSA has released it's enrollment numbers for 2002-2003 seasons.

Below is the list of enrollment numbers from the IHSA, shortened to include only schools with varsity football programs. After that it was broken up in to 8 parts, including about 62 teams in each part. While most of 8A will remain the same a few teams may jump as far as 2 classes once the schedules are released and may end up in an all together different class once the playoffs start.

Since football classes are determined by the schools football enrollment (a combination of the actual enrollment of the school and the enrollment of it's opponents schools) and those numbers won't be out until at least mid summer, we're giving you a little something to maul over on the message boards before then.

Once again, the numbers for enrollment are official and have already been used to set the standard for class A (752 & below) & AA (753 & up) for all other sports(except soccer), but the designation of the class structure for football was done as a speculation and in no way reflects the actual make-up of the playoff classes.
