Week #1 vs. Moweaqua

(0-1) Maroons Shock CAM Location (AP Style)- The Clinton Maroons upset highly regaurded Mowequa Central A & M 19-6 on the Raiders home field. Clinton was led by Junior Quarterback J.W. Sheering who passed for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. He connected with Senior Tight End Chris Pallo on a 41 yard pass in the first quarter and Junior Wideout Andrew Chapman from 25 yards to clinch the game in the fourth. Sandwiched in between was a 3 yard run by Junior tailback Ontario Sneed. In addition to his passing, Sheering also led the Maroons with 22 tackles as Clinton led from start to finish. The victory was the first win for Clinton
over A & M in seven attempts going back to the Raiders first game
in the Okaw Valley Conference in 1997 and marked
the successful debut of Clinton's new head coach Josh Johnson. by Larry Duling
