Late TDs Put Clinton On Top

Maroa - Clinton scored 2 touchdowns in the final minute to come from behind and win their third straight game, 20-14 over the host Maroa-Forsyth Trojans.

The Maroons trailed the entire game and were down 14-6 when quarterback J.W. Sheering hit Gage Lyons with a 4 yard pass and then scored the 2 point conversion on a naked bootleg with only 53 seconds left in the game.

The Trojans, apparently not ready to settle for overtime, had a pass intercepted by Clinton's Ontario Sneed and returned 52 yards to give Clinton the victory with only 15 seconds remaining. Sneed had the Maroon's other score on a 14 yard run in the second quarter.

For the game, Sneed rushed for 104 yards on 17 carries. Sheering was 7-18 passing for 69 yards and 1 touchdown.
Clinton remains in a 3 way tie for the Okaw Conference lead with Decatur St. Teresa and Shelbyville. All three schools are 3-0. Clinton will host Argenta-Oreana next.
