Nagel Helps in Lemont Win

Lemont - Lemont's Aaron Nagel (RB/DB 6'2 205 jr.) had 2 rushing TDs and an interception to help Lemont (9-1) knock off Kaneland in the first round of the 5A Playoffs Saturday night.

Nagel, who had TD runs of 30 & 19 yards, would also help set up Lemont's second touchdown of the game, a 1 yard dive by Willie Hayes (RB/LB 5'11 220 so.), after Nagel was stopped at the 1 on a 57 yard run.

Nagel ran for 191 yards on 24 carries. Dan DeBouf (QB 6'1 185 sr) hooked up with Luke Musselman (WR 6'1 195 sr.) on a 55 yard reception to score Lemont's other TD. Kicker Nick Kendzora, would hit 2 of 2 field goal from 36 & 30 yards out.

Both of Kaneland's TDs would come from Adam Blazek (WR 6'1 185 sr.) on receptions of 18 & 24 yards.

Nagel who came up big for Lemont of offense, also came up big on defense as well. Late in the fourth quarter, with Lemont starting on their own 6 yard line, and up 27-16, Nagel would fumble the ball only to intercept it on the very next play. The resulting drive would lead to Nagel's second TD and a Lemont 34-14 lead with :24 seconds left in the game.
