Week #7 vs. Chicago (St. Ignatius)
10/8/2005

Lions Roar in 4th, Stun Wolfpack

For three quarters it was all Wolfpack "D" as they were pitching a shutout vs. the Leo Lions
Saturday morning at Hanson Stadium. But then everything suddenly came apart as the Lion offense
(286 total yards) suddenly reeled off 18 unanswered points to win the game.

After a well played, defensive first quarter by both teams, St. Ignatius drew first blood when Dlyan
Schroeder ( 12/70/ 1TD) rumbled into the end zone for three yards and a touchdown. Other than Shcroeder's offensive output, the Wolfpack wasn't able to muster up much of anything as the gained a grand total of 121 yards of total offense for the game.

The St. Ignatius Wolfpack defense stalled long offensive drives as Niels Peterson and Mike Jones both intercepted passes which helped preserve the shutout for three quarters.

The 4th quarter belonged to the Leo Lions as they finally got on the board when #7, Willie Harper, found an open #22, Mario Grayson( rushing 12/33/1TD, rec 3/78/ 1TD,) in the end zone for six. The two point conversion was no good and they were still down 7-6 with 11:35 left on the clock.

The intensity picked up as every second melted off of the clock. Both teams led long drives that stalled. But then the lions went ahead for goos when #13, Marcus Cribbs, did his best Walter Payton impression by running through a sea of Wolfpack defenders for a 50 yard TD run that put Leo up for good 12 -7 with 3:33 left.

Schroeder put the game out of reach 1 minute and 29 seconds later with a 24 yard run that set the score.

The Lions defense was led by Omotiya Culverson who recorded 13 tackles and a sack and Latroy Townsend who made 12 tackles and 1 sack.
