Another Win, Another Shutout

Burbank ( Kavanagh Stadium) - After theBurbank (St. Laurance),Geneseogame ended Saturday night with a 49-0 St. Laurence loss, the public address announcer for St. Laurence thanked the Maple Leafs and their fans for driving the some 150 odd miles to make the game. Maybe the Geneseo fans should have been thanking them for taking a game against the northwestern Illinois high school football powerhouse.

St. Laurence played strong for the first quarter. Allowing only a Josh Rowold TD off of a 3 yard rush, but the second and third quarter would open up a flood gate that had the Vikings looking like lost grounds keepers trying to rake up Maple Leafs in the face of a gusting wind.

Rowold would add two more touchdowns to this game, both on short gain plays, but the Vikings defense was scrambling all night to trying to track down stray Leafs as the sprinted passed and around the Viking defenders. Brad Heller, Brenden Nordstrom, Kyle Sullivan & Nick Eberhardt all had rushing touchdowns.
