1. [1]Joliet (Catholic)1-0, The 5A state champs were 14-0, won their second straight title and 12th over all. The nationally ranked team, will have not one, but two 1,000 yard rushing returning in starters Joe Benson & Billy McKeon. 26-0 over
2. [17]Naperville Central 0-0, Head coach Joe Bunge is calling this his last year as coach. Look for a talented program to improve on last years 10-2 8A Quarterfinals team. 8/26 7:30 hostsRoselle (Lake Park).
3. [9]Hinsdale (Central)0-0, The Red Devils beat #4Downers Grove (North)last year in the regular season, but fell to them in the playoffs. QB Brett Morse is one of 8 starters back from last season's 11-1 team looking to make up fo rthat loss. 8/26 7:30 hostsEvanston (Twp.)
4. [4]Downers Grove (North)0-0, The Trojans are riding high on last years 12-2 7A State Champion team. Dual threat QB/DB Garrett Edwards returns to grab the wheel as they steer straight ahead for Champaign. 8/26 7:30 @Mt. Prospect (Prospect)
5. [NR]Lincolnshire (Stevenson)0-0, The Pats lost out last season to Libertyville & Warren and finished the season 7-4, but with some key returning talent, including QB Preston Earl, Stevenson looks to be the team to beat in the North Suburban (Lake). 8/26 7:30 hostsElk Grove Village (E.G.)
6. [5]Park Ridge (Maine South)0-0, The 13-1 8A Runner-ups in 2004 will see the return of backup QB Tyler Knight. Knight who played for injured Sean Price last season threw for over 1,000 yards & continues the tradition of great QBs at Maine South. 8/26 7:00 @ #26Bolingbrook
7. [10]Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) 0-0, East finished the regular season at 5-4 last year before kicking it into high gear and making the 8A Semi-Finals the hard way. 8/26 7pm hosts #12New Lenox (Providence)
8. [15]Chicago (Morgan Park) 0-0, Could you possibly have more talent a non All-Star team? The Mustangs, when all is said and done could have up to 4 players go to division I schools. 8/27 1pm vs. #11 Chicago (Mt. Carmel) @ Solider Field
9. [12]Wheaton (W. Warrenville South)0-0, 8A Semi-Final team will see the return of RB Dan Dierking (1700 plus yards rushing). 8/26 7:30 hostsGlen Ellyn (Glenbard West)
10. [6] Morris 0-0, John Dergo & Jamie Cumbie have been 2 of the reasons for the Redskins success on offense last year. Both return and look to make new head coach George Dergo the newest winning coach at Morris. 8/26 7:30 hosts Geneva

13. [21] Springfield (S.H.G.) 0-0, Cyclones look to stay on top in theCentral State Eightas well as get pay back for last years playoff loss to conference foe Jacksonville HS. SHG faces 2004 4A State Champs Montini in week #1. 8/27 3:30 @Lombard (Montini)
14. [NR] Gurnee (Warren) 0-0, RB Mitchell Moore will be the driving force of the Blue Devils. 8/26 7:30 @Winnetka (New Trier)
15. [23] Metamora 0-0, Last years 11-1 5A Quarterfinalist are the team to beat once again in the Mid-Illini. 8/26 7pm hostsSterling (H.S.)
16. [13]Chicago (Brother Rice)1-0, 2004 Prep Bowl Champs will be tough, but need to knock off #11Chicago (Mt. Carmel)& #12New Lenox (Providence)if they plan to keep the conference title. 55-8 overChicago (Bogan)
17. [29] O'Fallon 1-0, Justin Stewart will have to add to his 1200 rushing yards as a QB this season. As he and fellow RB Duane Bennett return from last seasons 11-1 team. Head coach Todd Moeller says his team "Isn't satisfied with last years performance". 45-7 over Pekin 0-1
18. [NR]East St. Louis (Sr.)0-0, Speedy third year starter Jaious Singleton returns at RB. Look for coach Darren Sunkett's team to challenge for the Southwestern Title. 8/28 8pm @ Warren Central, IN.
19. [2] Libertyville 0-0, The Wildcats should get some help from transferred QB Cameron Turner, as well as returning DE Michael Culberson-Fehling, but still look to have an uphill battle to hold on to the conference title. 8/26 7:30 hostsBarrington
20. [30] Freeport (H.S.) 0-0, Freeport returns two of its top linemen in Davie Pierson and Josh Bratley and looks to good to take on all challenger in the Northern Illinois (NIC-9). 8/26 7:15 @Rockford (Boylan)
21. [24] Oak Lawn (Richards) 1-0, Gary Korhonen's teams are always tough. Watch the week #2 matchup against #8 Chicago (Morgan Park) to see what the Bulldogs are made of this year. 8/26 7pm hostsOak Forest
22. [NR]Belleville (Althoff) 0-0, The Crusaders finished 10-2 last year after a run to the 5A Quarterfinals. Look for returning junior RB Jason Ford to spark the offense. Week #1 matchup vs.Troy (Triad)will be a great measuring stick for this team. 8/26 7pm @Troy (Triad)
23. [NR]Wheaton (North)0-0, The Falcons had an off year last season. Add some returning talent and getting former NFLer & North grad, Kent Graham to help coach the QB's and you've got a team set to challenge it's DuPage Valley foes again. 8/26 7:30 hostsAddison (Addison Trail)
24. [NR]Riverside (R.-Brookfield) 0-0, QB Chris Pesek comes off of a surprise sophomore year and should help the Bulldogs go far. 8/26 7:30 hosts Yorkville

26. [NR]Bolingbrook0-0, Head coach John Ivlow never seems to run out of talented player at The Brook. Junior RB Dale Martin is already being ranked at the top of the 2007 class, with returning speedy QB Javon Stewart & fast as lightning WR Carl Fisher, these Raiders may catch a lot of teams off balance. 23-20 loss to Park Ridge (Maine South)

[NR]Mundelein (Carmel)1-0, The Corsairs finished 7-4 last season, but they've got at lot of talent this season and are looking to make a run at East Suburban Catholic champs & #1 team Joliet (Catholic). But the ESCC is no longer just a 2 team conference. Notre Dame, Marian & St. Viator are all looking like contenders this year. 35-7 overNiles (Notre Dame)0-1
28. [NR]Normal (Community West)0-0, The Wildcats gave 6A runner-up Bloomington (HS) one of their two losses last year. They're back on track again this year looking to go further than the 2nd round of the playoffs this time. 8/26 7pm hostsChampaign (Central)
29. [NR] Pontiac 0-0, Mic Peterson has the Indians tuned back up, but look for challenges in week #2 & 3 asFairbury (Prairie Central) &Mahomet (M.-Seymour)will be fighting to stay on top in the Corn Belt. 8/26 7:45 hosts Herscher
30. [7]Cary (C.-Grove)0-0, Last years 13-1 7A runner-up will have a couple of Fox Valley's All Conference team players back on it's sidelines, along with a handful of returners. The exit of Lake Zurich from the conference could make the Trojans chance of a conference title a little easier. 39-8 overAlgonquin (Jacobs)
